Bidet Toilet Combo Reviews

Imagine turning your throne into a work of art with one of the toilet bidets above. It’s a magical sight to behold, isn’t it? Currently, the NX1 is the most luxurious option and certainly the best Toto Neorest toilet. Depending on your budget, you might find it advantageous to go all-in. The best way to do it is to first calculate the mountainous annual cost savings on TP. Then, use that number to evaluate how long it will take your new luxury bidet toilet to pay for itself.

You probably already noticed that Toto toilets share a lot of the same features, so what makes one better than the other? Well, the design of the toilet certainly factors into the price. Plus, there are the most premium options only found in the top models. When a person first lays eyes on the NX1, they become entranced by its godliness.

In the following sections, I share my thoughts on each of the bidets in my Top 5 along with the pros and cons. Are you ready to choose your bidet?

#1) Toto Neorest NX1

Of all the toilet bidet combos in this guide, the Toto Neorest NX1 has the most streamlined design with just a single seam where the bowl meets the lid. One of the major drawbacks of a home bidet attachment or electric bidet toilet seat attachment is its appearance compared to a unit like the NX1. Oftentimes, installations require visual water lines that aren’t the prettiest to look at. With the Neorest NX1, you get the cleanest elliptical silhouette design made of Vitreous China that welcomes guests instead of scaring them away. This is a true bidet Japanese toilet at its finest.

Outside of the appearance, the NX1 is loaded with features that make it one of the most efficient toilets on the market. You have full control over all of the luxury settings with the included remote. The smallest flush size of just 1 or .8 GPF is one of the many reasons why the NX1 is the best toilet bidet combo. Both men and women appreciate the customizable front and rear washing settings with intermittent pressure controls.

Once you finish doing your business, the toilet takes care of cleaning the bowl for you with Toto’s own chemical-free eWater+ system. The eWater+ system mists the bowl with electrolyzed water before you use it to ensure nothing is left behind after the toilet flushes itself. Additionally, the bidet uses eWater+ for a more sanitary cleaning experience and an overall cleaner bowl environment.

Other Noteworthy NX1 Features

  • Contoured heated seat fully adjustable between 82°F and 97°F
  • Automatic deodorizer with ionized carbon filtration to completely eliminate foul odors
  • Integrated warm air dryer for a hands-free drying experience
  • CeFiONtect glaze prevents buildup to keep the bowl cleaner for longer
  • Tornado Flush Technology for ultimate efficiency and water conservation
  • Automatic open/close lid by remote or sensor
  • Programmable energy saver settings
  • Integrated night light
  • Universal height
  • ADA Compliant
  • EPA WaterSense Member
  • An extended 3-year warranty period

The NX1 is essentially NASA tech in your bathroom with the visual appeal of an Aston Martin.

Pros
  • Amazing how well it cleans itself
  • The bidet washing experience is gentle yet very effective
  • A 100% hands-free experience with the auto open/close lid
  • It’s worth every cent
  • An overall fantastic experience
  • A king’s throne in your bathroom
  • Nothing else on the market compares to the NX1
Cons
  • The high upfront cost
  • Nothing more

#2) Toto Neorest 700H

It’s unfair for a toilet to have to follow the NX1, however, the Neorest 700H is still in the conversation for the best bidet toilet combo. Compared to the NX1, the 700H costs considerably less, and it comes with mostly all of the same core features. The clearest and most obvious difference is the designs between the two models. Toto execs spared no expense when it came time to design the NX1, and it shows up in the significant price increase between the NX1 and 700H.

Is the design worth the extra money? That’s the first question to ask yourself before you choose the Nx1 over the 700H. I do want to point out that the NX1 contoured seat design is superior to the 700H – not that the 700H isn’t super comfortable – and the most comfortable on the market. If you value comfort and enjoy long visits to the pot, you might find that spending the extra coin on the NX1 is in your best interest.

Below are the key differences between the two models to help you choose.

Toto Neorest NX1 vs Toto Neorest 700H

  • The 700H is rimmed while the NX1 is rimless
  • The NX1 features the latest tornado flush system for enhanced bowl cleanliness
  • Toto Nx1 costs significantly more
  • The 700H features a more traditional angled appearance
  • The NX1 seat features a curved back for added support and stability
  • Rimless bowl in the NX1 equals a bowl that’s easier to clean with less space for dirt & grime to hide

Those are the features to keep in mind when you choose between these two models. They’re both undoubtedly two of the top luxury bidets currently available, with the slight edge going to the NX1.

Pros
  • Makes any bathroom look more elegant and inviting
  • The functionality of the bidet offers a complete clean that eliminates the need for TP
  • The auto-open lid accurately tracks when you arrive, which initiates the pre-mist cycle
  • The seat is consistently warm, no need to worry about a cold seat upon arrival
  • A vast range of spray settings: oscillate, pulsate, strong, and gentle
  • The seat automatically closes after you finish, that’s just too cool not to mention
  • Nothing else on the market compares to the NX1
Cons
  • Installation most likely requires a plumber and electrician
  • Short users might feel that the seat is a bit high
  • A couple of malfunctioning part reports

#3) Kohler Veil Intelligent Toilet

The Kohler Veil is currently the top Kohler toilet bidet combo. The Veil is Kohler’s answer to the Toto NX1, and the good news is it costs a lot less than the NX1. If you enjoyed the clean one-piece design of the NX1, but not the price, the current Veil price is much more inviting.

One key difference between Kohler and Toto models is the use of UV light sterilization by Kohler rather than electrolyzed water. If one thing is for sure, UV light is an effective chlorine alternative for eliminating harmful microorganisms, including bacteria. The drawback is no electrolyzed water to clean your bottom with the Kohler Veil.

The latest Veil model offers an upgraded 17″ seat height to meet ADA requirements and make the bathroom experience more comfortable for adults. The GPF of .8 and 1.19 nearly match the efficiency of the Toto Neorest units. Plus, the Kohler Veil also features a motion-activated auto open/close lid (one of my personal favorite features).

Other Notable Kohler Veil Features

  • Adjustable stainless steel bidet nozzle for front and rear washing
  • Elongated bowl design for added comfort
  • Tankless warm water supply
  • Automatic deodorizer
  • LED night light
  • Touchscreen LCD remote control
  • The emergency flush system offers up to 100 flushes in the event of a power outage

All in all, the Kohler Veil offers the most pertinent features that a luxury bidet toilet combo should offer for a significantly lower price than the Toto NX.

Pros
  • Functions flawlessly and comes with all the bells and whistles
  • The LED night light feature is a nice touch
  • Very comfortable to sit on for people of all sizes
  • Customizing your settings with the remote is easy and intuitive
  • It makes you feel 100% pampered
  • The design is clean, modern, and adds a touch of elegance to any bathroom
  • It will more than likely exceed your expectations
  • The massage bidet setting is quite pleasant
Cons
  • The power of the warm air dryer might leave something to be desired
  • A handful of complaints about Kohler customer service

#4) Woodbridge Luxury Bidet Toilet

Earlier this month, I had the chance to review the Woodbridge series of bidet toilets, and I’m still impressed by their products. Woodbridge toilet bidet combos are currently the best budget Toto toilet alternative. At the time of this writing, the Toto NX1 is roughly 7X the cost of the Woodbridge T-0008 for a lot of the same luxury features. While that figure might win you over immediately, it’s important to consider that the NX1 design is on a whole different level.

The Woodbridge T-0008 does offer the elegance of a European bidet toilet combo, yet it’s not on par with the Japanese-inspired one-piece design of the Toto NX1. There are also certain missing features, such as the eWater+ cleaning system, automatic deodorization, and auto-open/close lid. Additionally, a less advanced bidet washing system, a less sophisticated remote control, a hose connected to the outside of the toilet, and no comfort height feature.

Despite the missing features, the T-0008 is still one of the best bidet toilet combos on the market, especially when considered as a top budget alternative to Toto and Kohler. If this is your first toilet bidet purchase, the T-0008 is certainly worth a look to decide whether you enjoy having a bidet in your home before you invest in a more expensive Toto model.

#5) Toto WASHLET+ UltraMax II

For about the same price as the Woodbridge unit above, you have the option to start the Toto bidet lifestyle. Unlike the Neorest one-piece models above, the UltraMax II seamlessly combines a Toto toilet with a Toto Washlet C200. Essentially, you’re buying a Toto toilet that’s been retrofitted with a Toto C200 Washlet. In case you’re wondering what a Toto Washlet is, it’s a bidet toilet seat attachment that installs on most elongated toilets. Except, in this case, you buy a Toto toilet with a Washlet seat in one package.

The drawback that sticks out to me is the price of the complete system if you like your existing toilet because buying a separate C200 Washlet costs less than half of what the complete package costs. Now if you’re a new homeowner or shopping for a new toilet, the UltraMax II is undoubtedly the best toilet bidet combo by Toto for the money.

It offers the same level of visual appeal as all of the other Toto luxury toilets and comes with mostly the same features offered by the Neorest models, including a heated seat, warm air dryer, fully functional bidet for front & rear washing, pre-mist, and automatic air deodorization. If you can live without the automatic open/close lid, a night light, and the eWater+ electrolyzed water system, you get authentic Toto quality for a bargain price.

Pros
  • The modern look for the price is unbeatable
  • Functions perfectly
  • The ideal introduction to using & owning a Toto Washlet
  • The integrated connector in the toilet hides the hoses and chords (unlike when pairing a Toto Washlet with most existing toilets)
  • Ample customization options, especially at this price point
  • Includes all the most important luxury bidet features for a fraction of the cost of a Neorest
  • The Toto warm air dryer is second to none
  • Easier to install than a Neorest or the Kohler Veil
Cons
  • A less comfortable seat than Neorest models
  • Comfort height might feel too high for people 5’5″ or under
  • The back of the seat comes up higher than a Neorest, which may force some people forward

Bottom Line

Now you know how to choose the best toilet bidet combo for your commode and the top models currently on the market. In the bidet department, toilets with built-in bidets are the top-shelf models. These are the models that stand the test of time and offer the widest range of luxury features. I started out on a handheld toilet bidet when I converted from the TP lifestyle. When I first experienced the pampering offered by a full-featured toilet with a built-in bidet, I knew I’d be a convert for life.

Toto offers a true hands-free bathroom experience, and its premium models are the best-rated and most sophisticated on the market. Outside of Toto, I trust Kohler first, and Woodbridge is growing into a top competitor as well. Your best bet is to stick with these three brands to get the red carpet treatment from your new bidet.
